blabla summary of fashion in China

After Chinese holidays, as usual, i start to prepare for a new year coming with challenges and adventures.

It’s never been easy as a entrepreneur, especially for a young.
Newborn calves are not afraid of tigers.
I am always saying i have nothing but only the courage.

Fashion week and Sales season are vital and tired,
Shops reform and Malls re position keep going,
Brands’ quick booming and fading is normal,
Industry changes so suddenly and unexpectedly,
2017 is still a worthy fighting moment for all the fashion players.

The last 2 years has not been positive for most of brands and retailers. Luxury drops, fast fashion giants have shown their concerns also, with the most direct phenomena of closure of shops, one by one. For new brands trying to share a little cake it’s harder than ever.

Chinese is a vital market today for all multi-national with its significant population and expanding mental and physical desires of better quality life.
So all players trying their own magic to be outstanding, with more or less investment, with better or worse results.
From consultancy company to promote “Re-defining retail conception” idea, to retailers to offer extra related or not related services, to agency/showrooms/designers doing non-stop cross-over projects, etc. New brands, foreign and local ones, fast fashion, designer labels, luxury maisons, etc, open their arms to the market.
We believe opportunity coming always with danger, and yes, new brands have seen some successful cases but not all, and not long lasting.

Consumers are guiding or be guided, it depends on the power of the market suppliers. But yes of course, winners are always changing, like fashion is never related to silence.
A lot new brands coming with big ambition, but there are divers difficulties unexpected, so they either struggle to stay with a lot more investment or exit. Some succeed in first few years but still can not escaped the average 5 year lifetime “curse”. Chinese are always seeking new and à la mode things, except luxury brands with solid image of fortune and status.  So for new enters, you should really figure out if u have fully prepared in money and team to join in the Chinese cake sharing battles.

Fashion entrepreneur have no time to breath!! I take this little moment to share the blabla summary with u, which help me also to clarify again me thoughts.

Don’t hesitate to leave me message or contact me if u have any thoughts. It ll be great if we can exchange.

I ll share u more when i take another break.

Nice day!!

Chinese Lantern Festival

Here again. ! Time to Chinese Lantern Festival

It is considered as the first most important festival in China, during every especially in some traditional regions like my hometown “Swatow”, in the east of Guangdong Province. By the way we speak Teochaw here, our special dialect, which is spoken quite widely around the world, especially in many China-town in foreign countries and many countries in south est Asia.

Different regions and cultures in China celebrate this festival with different traditions. I think no one can fully know them all. Here I only share some key tradition with u:

Yuanxiao

We can never forget an abundant diner, gathering all family. And lot people eat Yuanxiao, a special sweet dumpling. It’s filling is made of white sugar, rose petals, sesame,  sweetened bean paste, walnuts, nuts, jujube paste, etc., then using glutinous flour to wrap round. (Actually, the fillings  can be adapted to your own taste)  We can steam, deep-fry or soup. It symbolizes family unity, completeness and happiness.

Watching lanterns

In big cities and small towns, people gather to attend temple fairs, where beautiful lanterns, funny lantern riddles, fireworks create harmony and crowned scenes.

Hello never too late

I had a blog in Chinese when i was in middle school, when everyone was writing his/her own blog. I believe at that time my intention was more becoming famous on social media than sharing own opinion.

After backing to China from my studies in France and working in fashion and lifestyle industry with lot of foreigners, I do believe many foreign friends have some wrong opinion or misunderstanding about China, some due to press leading.

Here, I d like to share some Chinese little life with you. No matter how many readers or friends i can have here, it’s really a great time to spend some time record real life about China here and talk to you who are interested in and would like to know more about China.

Well, or maybe I will share something about my little life also.

PS: I ve thought about to write in French also, but since English will be more widely understood, I choose English as major language to publish. I will also write in French if i can not stop my enthusiasm of this beautiful language — French!!

Good to start..Talk to u soon!!
